On-Demand Solutions for e-commerce

Consulting & Design

Since our e-commerce framework is extremely flexible and there are no limits imposed by technology, defining current and future business processes is even more important.

Planning forms the foundation of any successful e-business project. We apply over 10 years of e-commerce experience in a variety of industries to our projects in order to maximise your success. On the one hand, it is important to take your individual business processes and requirements into account; on the other hand, sufficient flexibility must be maintained for continuous change and growth. This is why Xsite follows a proven set of project implementation phases so that the path to success is successful in itself.

The project implementation phases followed by our experienced project managers are the result of many years of practical experience – they have proven themselves time and time again. Nevertheless, they are adapted to the individual characteristics of each project.

Phase 1: Analysis of the current situation / inventory
We take a detailed look at the status quo in a one-day workshop. Who are your customers and what are their requirements? Which systems are you using, what processes and data need to be integrated into the shop system and administered there?

Phase 2: Design and development
At the end of the design phase, you are provided with a binding specification and a detailed project plan with milestones and all project phases. This means the e-commerce project always remains transparent – problems can be identified and corrected in a timely manner. Both the analysis of the current situation and the development of your individual requirements are carried out by experienced project managers who will subsequently oversee the implementation. We offer quality and know-how from day one.

Phase 3: Usability & design
Xsite prepares the shop design in conjunction with you and according to your corporate design specifications – or you may have this step completed by an agency of your choice. We then subject the shop layout to a comprehensive usability test in conjunction with our partners, based on 10 years of e-commerce experience. Not only do we emphasise user-friendliness, we also assure sales optimisation since generating online sales is our common goal. Once the design has been approved by the customer, mock-ups are prepared in order to allow each functional component to be “experienced”. Once the final changes have been made, we implement your custom templates.

Phase 4: Interfaces and integration
Successful, modern e-commerce requires all business processes to be aligned with the online sales channels. The simple, high-performance integration and synchronisation of upstream and downstream systems such as ERP, CRM, PIM, logistics, etc. is crucial.

Phase 5: Adaptation and individual configuration
We issue a configuration certificate that documents your custom system configuration. In the implementation phase, we adapt the framework to your requirements and incorporate your requests. The scope of configuration has an impact on the transaction fees. After all, the more highly customised your system is, the more expensive it is for us to maintain your overall configuration package.

Phase 6: Testing & change requests
Successful e-commerce projects are always future-oriented. Project complexity and dynamics can result in additional requirements and changes that go beyond the original requirements specification. Modifications that go beyond the implementation of the requirements specification and comprehensive testing are handled in a timely manner in the form of change requests. This includes the extension of the original functionality as well as additional services. With our change request management system, we are able to record, plan, coordinate, control, and account for changes during the implementation phase.

Phase 7: Live operation and optimisation
Once the quality assurance process has been completed successfully, the system can go live. The launch of the new e-commerce system is followed by a critical wrap-up evaluation and the continuous, ongoing development of your successful e-commerce solution.

After all, only e-commerce systems that are kept current also have a future!
